Keeping true to seasons prior we want to remain an affordable option for those wanting a drum corps experience. We want to be the program for those who want to do drum corps during summer but not the whole summer; or the college student who still needs to work a few days a week before classes start back up.

We’re not for everybody and that’s okay for us. We are looking to build on the success of 2026 to go into 2027 strong and ready for a new challenge. We have a future oriented mindset here and do everything today to set us up for success tomorrow.

Eclipse DBC will be participating under the DCI Open Class competition structure for 2027.

The current age range for the program is 14-21. Prior experience in marching band/drum corps is not required. We want to strongly encourage woodwind players to come out and audition! We are an educational program at our roots and would love the opportunity to teach you on something new.

November, December, January, and February will all be one day camps located in the Indianapolis area. April, May, and June weekend camps will be located in the Chicago or Fort Wayne area, overnight housing will be provided for those camps.

For the upcoming season, membership fees are currently set at $3750. We will continue looking for ways to bring the cost of membership down as we head into the 2027 season without sacrificing the quality of experience for our members.

The cost is the same at the door, but it will be difficult for you to prepare the music if you wait until then. Please register ahead of time and let us know if you have any questions!

Contract - A term for earning a spot in a corps. While some corps have a more formalized process where members will actually sign a contract-like document to commit to marching in a corps, many times this term is used informally.

Callback - A second or third round of an audition.

Cut - A term for making a spot in a corps.

Conflicts should be communicated to an administrative staff member prior to the camp day.

Caption heads will determine which part you will be playing in the show and the warmups. Parts will be assigned prior to camp and can change depending on performance, preparation, and the needs of the group.

Virtual auditions will be available though it is strongly advised to attend in person, if at all possible, especially if you've never been to a drum corps camp before. Coming in person will help you see if you actually vibe with the program and meeting the instructors and other members in person is always a super fun experience.

Yes, all camps will build on the last camp, and we will be adding information at each camp. If you have a legitimate conflict (school, emergency, prior commitments) communicate this with your caption head and you will be assigned a virtual assignment. Completion of virtual assignments is required to remain in good standing with the drum corps. 

Getting a call back means that we believe you may be ready for drum corps, and your staff is looking to make sure that you are able to make improvements between camps so you will have a successful season. Make sure to communicate with staff and read your notes thoroughly to understand what should be focused on in your personal practice before the next camp.

Wear something you don’t mind getting sweaty as there will be a lot of movement! Black athletic pants or shorts are preferred and a plain white shirt or Eclipse shirt. Shoes should be athletic shoes for all sections. Attendees will be provided a logo shirt included with registration for the November camps only. Do not wear merch from other drum corps. This is a standard for all drum corps camps. 

Make sure you bring a water bottle, tennis shoes, instrument, mouthpiece, drum pad, flag, guard weapons, and any other equipment you may need. See below to see a comprehensive list for your section.

We encourage you to bring the instrument that you are auditioning on. The corps does have a limited number of brass and battery equipment that will also be available at camps.

In short, if you have it; bring it!

For Indiana based camps, food is provided! For satellite camps in other states, food is on your own, so please plan ahead. If you have a dietary preference, please make sure to communicate it when you sign up for camp.

Bring a drum, stand, and carrier if you can, and always bring a drum pad and sticks.

Yes, and you must print your packet and put it in a 1” 3-ring binder with sheet protectors. 

In person, visual auditions will consist of an evaluation based on a variety of factors during visual block and your techs will take notes. On top of that, each auditionee will be pulled out of rehearsal to perform the two box drills in the audition packet.

Pick one instrument to focus on at a time. If that doesn't work out for whatever reason the staff will be able to make a good recommendation for secondary instrument.
